10 Delicious and Easy Diwali Sweets Recipe One Can Prepare Under 15 Minutes


A Bengali delicacy known as Sandesh (Shondesh) is prepared with pure chenna. The best thing about trying a Sandesh recipe at home is that you can customise the flavours and, more importantly, the degree of sweetness. It’s absolutely delicious. It is one of the ideal Diwali sweets. 


  • One cup chenna
  • A little teaspoon of cardamom powder and 2.5 tbsp of sugar
  • A few saffron strands
  • One tablespoon of hot milk
  • A little sprinkle of salt 


  • Put the saffron threads in the warm milk to soak.
  • Add the sugar, salt, and cardamom powder to the chenna after you’ve created it and kneaded it to a somewhat smooth consistency.
  • Once the dough is thoroughly blended, lightly knead it once more with your fingertips.
  • To get rid of the chenna’s rawness, transfer to a pan and cook for a few minutes.
  • The substance will start to release some moisture and become mushy. As soon as it begins to pull away from the pan’s sides, continue stirring. Stop when the mixture is moist and beginning to form a lump because if you overheat it, the chenna will become dry.

  • Dry roast the nuts, one type at a time, until spots of browning appear on them.
  • Use a food processor or even a mixer to grind this until you have a coarse mix. To give the ladoos some texture, it’s better to leave a few large pieces.
  • In a non-stick pan, warm the butter or ghee.
  • Add the dates and heat for three minutes, or until they soften. The butter or ghee will be totally absorbed too.
  • Blend in the chopped nuts after adding them. Turn off the heat. The mixture will be slightly moist and a little challenging to blend, but persevere with your spatula, and you will soon have a mound of dates and nuts mixed perfectly. 
  • Make ladoos of your preferred size and coat with flaked coconut once it is cool enough to touch. As an alternative to coconut, you might also use roasted poppy seeds, sesame seeds, etc. The dates ladoos can also be enjoyed plain.

Chocolate Peda

Another extremely delicious and easy-to-prepare Diwali sweet is chocolate Peda. Recipe for chocolate pedas using milk powder and condensed milk.


  • 400 gm (about one can) of condensed milk
  • 1 cup of powdered milk
  • 1/3 cup of chocolate chunks, chips, or cocoa powder
  • Two to three drops of vanilla extract (optional)
  • Add a little salt (optional)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted Butter


  • Butter is added to a preheated, non-stick pan. Wait for the butter to melt thoroughly after lowering the temperature to a simmer.
  • Condensed milk, milk powder, and cocoa powder should be added.
  • The flame should remain minimal. Gently combine the ingredients until well-mixed. It will begin to melt if you use chocolate chips or pieces.
  • Add the vanilla extract and salt and continue to stir until the liquid begins to become smooth. Mix thoroughly. The mixture will begin to thicken. The bottom will burn if you stop mixing at any point.
  • The mixture will thicken and become a little more difficult to mix in around 3 to 4 minutes. Continue. 
  • The liquid will get thick and creamy and thick, leave the pan’s sides, and swirl around your ladle after another 5–6 minutes of patient stirring. From this point on, cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. The chocolate Peda will be sticky and fudgy if you remove it too soon.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased dish or tray as soon as it becomes extremely thick and surrounds your ladle, refusing to budge any more.
  • Put some chopped or whole cashew nuts inside and smooth it out with the back of your silicon spatula or moist fingertips (the mixture will be quite hot!). After letting it cool completely, chill it for about an hour.

Diwali Sweets: Kaju Katli

It is one of the well-known Diwali Sweets recipes made with cashew powder and sugar syrup. As a result, it is one of the awesome Diwali sweets. It is arguably one of the most well-known Indian sweet recipes, which is prepared for all occasions and festival seasons.


  • Uncooked cashew nuts in a cup
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 to 2 tbsp of milk
  • 1-2 tsp Ghee 
  • Water


  • Before continuing, make sure the cashew nuts are dehydrated. Put the ingredients in a spice grinder, and grind 2-3 times at 3-second intervals.
  • You should get finely powdered cashew nuts that are somewhat crumbly, coarse, and moist (from the natural oils in the cashew nuts). Over-grinding the cashew nuts will cause them to become mushy and convert into cashew butter. Make sure to remove any large pieces from the powdered cashew.
  • Once all the cashew nuts have been powdered, begin with sugar syrup preparation. At medium temperature, add the sugar and water to a non-stick pan. When the sugar has completely dissolved, and the mixture has reached a little thicker consistency that coats the back of your spatula, allow it to boil while continuing to stir.
  • Lower the flame and stir in the powdered cashew nuts.
  • It’s time to start stirring continuously now. For about 8 to 10 minutes, stir continuously until the mixture starts to bubble and thicken to the point where it rolls all around the spatula while you mix.
  • Add one tablespoon of milk and one teaspoon of ghee to the boiling mixture before transferring it right away to a plate. Wait until the mixture is warm enough for you to handle it with your fingertips.
  • Gently knead for about two minutes, adding more milk and ghee if necessary to incorporate all the crusty and dry areas.
  • A very smooth dough that is still warm should be ready soon. Roll the material into a 1/4″-thick circle or square between two pieces of greaseproof paper. Scrub with a sharp knife into diamond shapes while still warm.
  • Once totally cooled, divide the pieces and place them in a refrigerator container with a tight lid.

Apple Kheer

A wonderful Indian milk-based dessert made with apples and dry fruits is known as apple kheer. One of the most popular & in-demand Diwali sweets, this recipe is delicious and healthy, made from milk pudding with apples.


  • Full-fat milk 1.5 cups
  • Grated apple in a half-cup
  • 1 to 2 tbsp of sweetened condensed milk
  • Pinch of cardamom powder
  • A few saffron threads
  • 8 chopped almonds
  • Butter or ghee1 teaspoon


  • In a saucepan, heat the milk to a boil until allowing it to boil slowly. To keep it from burning, stir frequently.
  • In the meantime, roast the almonds in butter (or ghee) in a smaller pan until they are light golden brown.
  • To this, add the grated apple, and cook for a while. The apples will lose crispness but still become soft, and the mixture will dry. 
  • Begin to focus your attention on the milk. The milk would be down to half its initial volume in about 10 minutes. Add the cardamom and saffron at this point. After mixing, heat for a further minute.
  • Add the condensed milk and roasted apple and almonds to the milk. Mix well for a few minutes, and your apple kheer is ready.

Coconut Ladoo

One of the mouth-watering Diwali sweets recipes is none other than Coconut ladoo. In this recipe, we will make optimum use of condensed milk and grated coconut.  


  • 1 cup Sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup of grated coconut plus additional for rolling
  • One teaspoon of butter or ghee and 12 raw almonds chopped


  • Roast the almonds in hot butter or ghee until they are brown. Drain and reserve.
  • Add the condensed milk and dried coconut to the same pan.
  • Mix thoroughly and cook the mixture on a low flame until it becomes quite thick and begins to ball up. Your spatula will become stuck to the mixture and typically stop moving when you try to stir it. Give in and extinguish the flame at that point.
  • When the mixture is cold enough for you to handle, add the toasted almonds, mix them in, and then add more.
  • Make the necessary amount of ladoos, then roll them in more desiccated coconut. If the mixture is sticky, you can oil your hands with some soft butter or ghee, but if they are cooked properly, it shouldn’t be difficult to shape them. If the ladoo mixture is too sticky, return it to the pan and cook it till it’s done.
  • After entirely cooling, transfer to an airtight container. The ladoos get a little hard when refrigerated, so keep them out for a while before eating. Refrigerate for up to 4 days.

Choco-Khoya Kalakand

One of the delicious and easy-to-prepare Diwali sweets is chocolate and khoya layered Kalakand. 


  • Grated khoya or mawa, 1 cup
  • ½ cup sugar
  • One tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • Milk, 2–3 tablespoons
  • Sliced nuts as a garnish


  • To create a somewhat thick paste, combine the milk and chocolate powder. Place aside.
  • Add sugar and grated khoya to a large pan set over a low temperature.
  • Gently heat this mixture while continuing to stir it until the khoya thickens and begins to roll off your spatula.
  • A greased plate’s base will benefit from having half of this mixture firmly patted on it. 
  • Don’t let the leftover mixture unattended for too long! Add the milk and cocoa powder mixture quickly and stir to combine. Remove after a minute.
  • On top of the prior layer, evenly and firmly pat the chocolate mixture.
  • Gently press the chopped nuts into the Kalakand after adding them.
  • Before cutting into squares, let the mixture cool to room temperature and then chill for an hour. Maintain its grade in the refrigerator for up to a week. For optimal flavour, rewarm just a little before serving.

Diwali Sweets: Jalebi

A highly traditional and well-liked sweet dish in Northern India is called jalebi. It is a snappy and easy way to make jalebi without the use of yeast. Jalebi is one of the loveliest Diwali sweets to serve since it is crispy and delicious.


  • 1 Cup of Maida- 250ml
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar, 2 tbsp curd, 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup of water 
  • 2 cups of deep-frying oil
  • 2 tbsp Ghee


  • Let’s start by making the sugar syrup. Maintain the flame while adding sugar to the pan. Add some water, then wait for the sugar to dissolve. Keep the temperature on medium once the sugar syrup begins to boil, and stir consistently until you achieve a one-string texture.
  • Combine the Maida, maize flour, and curd using a mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly after adding water and vinegar. Add the yellow food colouring and stir thoroughly. After that, stir in the eno salt. You could see that the batter begins to become foamy after adding eno salt. Our batter is currently ready.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add the jalebi batter to an empty ketchup bottle. 
  • When the oil reaches the desired temperature, maintain a medium flame while turning the ketchup bottle upside down and squeezing it to create smooth, rounded spirals in the oil. The jalebi should be deep-fried over a low flame until it is crisp on all sides.
  • In order to add the crispy jabeli to the sugar syrup, remove it from the paper towel and let it sit there for a minute. Place the jalebi that has been nicely coated in sugar syrup on both sides on another plate after soaking it for a minute. Enjoy!

Moong Dal Halwa

A delicious, quick, and sweet halwa recipe that can be enjoyed and served as one of the royal Diwali sweets is Moong Dal Halwa. 


  • ½ cup Moong Dal
  • a cup of milk
  • 0.5 cups Ghee 
  • 1 tbsp Almond flakes and 1/2 cup sugar
  • Cashews
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder


  • Dry roast the moong dal in a heavy-bottomed pan until a pleasant aroma emerges and the dal’s colour starts to change.
  • Roasted dal must be cooled before grinding to a slightly coarse powder.
  • Take a cup of milk & warm it in a saucepan. Milk doesn’t need to be boiled.
  • Ghee is heated in a pan. To prevent lumps, add the powdered moong dal and whisk continually. Add cashews and almonds, then allow the nuts to roast in the ghee as well.
  • Add the heated milk and stir thoroughly with the roasted dal and almonds. The dal will cook quickly, and the ghee will start to separate immediately.
  • Mix sugar in thoroughly. The consistency of the halwa first tends to be thinner, but after about a minute, it begins to thicken, and the butter begins to separate. Mix thoroughly after adding cardamom powder. Put out the flame. Put the halwa in a bowl for serving.


In Tamil Nadu, Rava (sooji/semolina), sugar, and ghee are combined to make the famous and simple dessert known as Rava Kesari. These well-known Diwali sweets are made in about 15 minutes with few ingredients and a straightforward procedure.


  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1/4 cup Ghee, 2 cups Sugar, and 3 cups Water

  • Cardamom Powder

  • Fry the cashew nuts in a small amount of ghee over medium heat until they get a golden brown colour, then set them aside on a plate.
  • Another saucepan should be filled with 3 cups of water and heated to a boil.

  • Stir well after adding the hot, boiling water to the rava in the pan. Maintain a low flame while the rava cooks.
  • After the Rava is thoroughly cooked, add the sugar and stir well. Do not panic or worry; keep the flame low and continue stirring until the Rava begins to thicken once more. Adding sugar causes the rava to become diluted once again.
  • Mix thoroughly after adding the cardamom powder and Kesar colour. Finally, mix in the ghee, add the cashew nuts, and then extinguish the flame. Serve hot, and enjoy.
