CG Godhan Nyay Yojana: An Initiative for Dairy Farmers & Pashupalaks

Godhan Nyay Yojana

Desi cows play a significant role in the growth & progress of the Indian economy. However, it’s a fact that despite being a country with a good number of cows, dairy farmers failed to gain a huge advantage in the dairy business. They have the resources but don’t know how to utilize them and make money by selling cow dung-based products. A first-of-its-kind Yojana for dairy farmers and Pashupalaks came into existence in 2020. CM Bhupesh Baghel Ji initiated this scheme for dairy farmers and dairy entrepreneurs of Chhattisgarh.

Under the wonderful scheme, multipurpose cow dung will be purchased from all the dairy farmers and animal herders who take care of cows and are engrossed in Gaupalan. The government is all set to utilize the cow dung and improve the living standards of Gaupalaks and dairy farmers. Cow dung will be used in the preparation of Vermicompost. This Vermicompost aids in the quick germination of seeds, ensures better root systems, adds valuable nutrients to the soil for plants, and generates higher yields. About Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana

Keeping the income, health and welfare of dairy farmers in mind, the Chhattisgarh government came up with this unique scheme, known as Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana. Through this scheme, the government is engrossed in buying cow dung from cattle rearers. This initiative ensures a significant boost in the income of dairy farmers and animal herders.

The CG government has given wings to two stages under this Yojana. Around 2240 gaushalas will be entailed in the first stage under this scheme. In the second stage, cow dung will be purchased from Gaupalaks. The government can utilize cow dung for numerous purposes. From making good fuel to the preparation of cow dung cake, the government can transform cow dung into useful products. In order to make animal husbandry profitable, the government is readily purchasing cow dung at the rate of Rs.2/kg from livestock owners. Applicants can apply for CG Godhan Nyay Yojana via online medium. It will save their valuable hours as well as money.

The objective of the Scheme

It’s a harsh reality in the country that cattle rearers and livestock owners take care of the cow only when she is capable of giving milk. Once the cows stop yielding milk, the cow caretakers leave them to roam and even let them go forever from their gaushalas and farms. Chhattisgarh government noticed this situation and started Chhattisgarh Godhan Nyay Yojana, which is beneficial for farmers as well as animals. Through this scheme, the income of the beneficiaries can be increased, and cows will also receive better treatment and care. The objectives of Godhan Nyay Yojana are showcased below-

  • To upgrade the living standard of cattle rearers
  • To boost the dairy ecosystem in Chhattisgarh
  • To increase the earning opportunities for dairy farmers
  • To ensure a better life for cows even after they stop producing milk
  • To transform the animal husbandry segment into a profitable one
